Local Park Spotlight: Chesterfield Community Park

By Jessica Delfft January 21, 2021

Chesterfield Park, located at 2511 W. Republic Rd, in Springfield is often a hub of family fun and activity year round. It offers a wide variety for all ages. It is a great place to burn off some quick energy or to do spend a leisurely few hours.

Moms of kids with multiple ages will appreciate the two play structures side by side with one geared for older kids and smaller one for the littles to enjoy.

The bigger playground offers lots of climbing elements which my little monkeys always enjoy.

And of course, you can't leave leave out swinging fun.

As a family, we also enjoy taking advantage of their half mile walking trail loop and bringing a picnic to the pavilion. Their trail is great for safe biking or scooter riding. It is also an excellent way to burn off energy before bedtime.

Other Helpful Tips

  • The park contains lots of open grassy areas perfect for kite flying or kicking a ball around. It also means that it is a less contained area so you might want to keep that in mind if you have little ones that like to run.
  • The restrooms and drinking fountain are near the playground for easy access.
  •  Dogs on leashes are welcome and there are often a few furry friends enjoying the park.
  • Although the official address of the park is W. Republic Rd. The entrance is actually located on Scenic Ave.
