Free Family Fun: Keeping Cool at the Jordan Valley Fountains

July 20, 2017

If you haven't explored this Springfield treasure yet, I highly recommend that you do so before summer's end. Laid out at in the beautiful Jordan Valley Park.

The water feature actually begins at the top a large hill. The water depth is only a few inches which makes it a great exploration spot for little ones.

My kiddos love starting at the top and making their way down the water feature. Getting to the bottom is half the fun as they travel down the steps and splash in the smaller fountains.

At the bottom, not only will you find the tall fountains but another large wading area. It is a great (and free) way to keep the kiddos cool and occupied on a hot summer day.

Jordan Valley Park can be found at 635 E. Trafficway St in Springfield. The fountains and stream run from 10:00 am - 9:30 pm beginning the the first weekend in May until through mid October. The fountains run every hour on the hour for 30 minutes. They also run continuously from 11:00 am - 1:30 pm.
