Splash Pad Spotlight: Howard Smith Community Park in Strafford

May 1, 2022
Last week, the kiddos and I had the pleasure of trying out the splash pad at Howard Smith Community Park in Strafford. Let's just say that I planned to stay for just an hour and I had to drag them out after we had been there for over two hours. This small splash pad is nestled in a cute little park. It is a great way to let the kids burn off energy while keeping cool at the same time. As a an added bonus, the park has lots of shaded areas for when you need to escape the sun's rays.

Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your visit

  • There are two covered pavilions next to the splash pad so it is a great place for a picnic.
  • The only restroom is a single outhouse so it works best to have the kiddos wear their bathing suits to the park.
  • When they need a break from the water,  there is a nearby playground to enjoy.
  • Beware, the grass around the splash pad can get a bit muddy.
  • Don't forget the swim diapers for those not yet potty trained.

The splash pad can be found at 410 E. Bumgarner Blvd, Strafford, MO 65757. It is open daily during the summer months.
