Wow, 2020 was quite the year. As I reflect, I realize that my family and I learned how to be much more flexible and adapt quickly to the many changes that were thrown at us. The kids had to adjust to a new way of learning, and we all had to learn a little more patience. We learned to be more resourceful and understanding. We also learned that isolation is hard and that connection is so important - connection to each other and connection to our community. I've learned that our community can truly come together to support one another and our beloved local businesses.
I've also learned that I cannot, actually, do it all. This one may have been the most difficult lesson for me this year, as I have always overextended myself and thought that always having a full plate was a scenario in which I thrived. The truth is, as much as I want to accomplish it all, it's okay to take a step back and acknowledge that I simply cannot. I've learned that this doesn't make me a failure as a mom - but that needing help sometimes, whether it's a pandemic or not, simply makes us human. Join me in resolving to be kinder and more forgiving to yourself in 2021.
I hope that the New Year will be filled with new goals & achievements, positive experiences, and health for you and your family. May your days in 2021 be filled with happiness, creating memories, and finding your family fun!
