Tiny Fins Survival Swim is a survival swim school that teaches children confidence in the water and peace of mind for parents in case of a water emergency.
Tiny Fins Survival Swim, located in Springfield, MO is reminding community members that May is Water Safety Month.
"The number one accidental death in children ages 1-4 is drowning," said Hayden Wooten, founder of Tiny Fins Survival Swim. "It is my goal and my passion to educate the community about the importance of water safety during Water Safety Month and always." Research shows the risk of drowning can be reduced by 88% if children participate in formal swimming lessons between ages 1-4.
"Drowning is silent, and it happens quickly," says Wooten. "I want to get the word out that it is preventable, and Tiny Fins can help."
ABOUT TINY FINS SURVIVAL SWIM
Tiny Fins teaches children true survival skills which include rolling over from a face-down position, or a submerged position, to their back in order to cry for help. This life-saving survival skill gently introduces children to water and gives them tools to rescue themselves should they ever be alone in the water. Lessons are one-on-one, 4 days per week, Monday through Thursday, and are 15 minutes in length. These lessons continue for 6 consecutive weeks. The program boasts shorter, more frequent lessons as the reason for such an effective program.
