What is an IBCLC?
International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) are allied-health professionals and members of the maternal-child healthcare team. The IBCLC certification is the gold standard of lactation care and requires years of extensive training, including college-level health science coursework. They provide expert lactation care in a variety of settings while making appropriate referrals to other healthcare professionals and community support resources.
