The History Museum on the Square is proud to announce the opening of its upcoming exhibit, Springfield's Leading Ladies: Creating Legacies, on March 9th, 2024. This temporary exhibit will run until June 2nd, inviting visitors to explore the profound impact of women in business, politics, and community organizations throughout Springfield's history.
Springfield's Leading Ladies: Creating Legacies delves into the inspiring stories of resilient trailblazers who left an indelible mark on Springfield's rich heritage, from innovative entrepreneurs to influential political figures and dedicated community leaders. This exhibit highlights the groundbreaking achievements of women who were the first to step into positions of leadership, forge their own path, and inspire future generations.
Visitors will have the opportunity to uncover the often-overlooked narratives of these exceptional women, gaining insight into their struggles, triumphs, and enduring legacies. Through engaging displays and thought-provoking artifacts, the exhibit celebrates the resilience, determination, and vision of Springfield's leading ladies.

This exhibit goes hand-in-hand with our Meet Missouri field trip experience, aligning with Missouri's DESE standards, it showcases notable Springfieldians through an engaging, interactive learning approach."
The exhibition opens to the public on March 9th, 2024, and is included with general museum admission.
