What we love about Mr. Nick's Inclusive Playground:
In October 2020, an inclusive playground at McBride Elementary in Springfield was opened to honor the legacy of Mr. Nick, a beloved special education teacher at the school who passed away unexpectedly in 2018. A blue sign welcoming everyone expresses the purpose of the playground - "all abilities, all together". The playground accommodates children of all abilities, so they can experience the joy of play inclusively with their peers. When planning a visit, please keep in mind that it is located at a school. Plan your visit during non-school hours.
