Tips for Shopping at Farmers Markets
Here are a few things to note before heading out to farmers markets in Greater Springfield:
- Bring reusable shopping bags or a large basket to carry your items.
- Most vendors accept credit/debit cards but some still do not - be prepared with cash.
- Many accept SNAP benefits. Please check with each farmers market for their process.
- Ask questions! The vendors are friendly and eager to answer your questions about their products and farms.
- Some farmers may want to handle/bag the produce for you to reduce the possibility of damaging other produce or their display. Be mindful of this and remind your children not to touch items without being invited to do so.
- Check the farmers market policies before bringing your pets along.
